Three researchers from the TEC Centre attend Framework 7 Open Day held in Brussels on July 9 2010
Three researchers from the TEC Centre attended the recent PPP (Public Private Partnership) EU Framework 7 Open Day held in Brussels on July 9 2010. The 3 PPP Initiatives are :
- PPP1 – Factories of the Future
- PPP2 – Energy Efficient Buildings
- PPP3 – Green Cars
The three PPPs represent a powerful means of boosting research efforts in three large industrial sectors – automotive, construction and manufacturing – which have been particularly affected by the economic downturn and where innovation can significantly contribute towards a more green and sustainable economy.
The topics called under Factories of the Future 2011 are :
- FoF.NMP.2011-1 The eco-factory: cleaner and more resource-efficient production in manufacturing
- FoF.NMP.2011-2 Cooperative machines and open architecture control system
- FoF.NMP.2011-3 Robots for automation of postproduction and other auxiliary processes
- FoF.NMP.2011-4 High-tech solutions in the production processes for customised healthy, green and safe consumer products
- FoF.NMP.2011-5 Towards zero-defect manufacturing
The deadline for submission of projects is December 2 2010. TEC Centre researchers are actively working on several project proposals and welcome contact with any industry or research centre who are also planning to participate in the call.
